FAQ

Is there an age or height limit?

All who are over 116 cm tall and/or over 5 years old are invited to slide, but remember if you’re under 18 you’ll need to get a sign off from your legal guardians.

Can I use my GoPro or Selfie Stick on the Slide?

Yes! Bring them along and get some awesome footage and insta worthy photos!

How long is the slide?

The slide length will vary depending on the location and permitting. But it will usually be between 100-300 meters. Check specific details on slide length on respective event pages before registering.

Where can I put my belongings?

Leave valuables at home and lock any other belongings in the car. Slide the City is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Are there group rates available?

If you have a group with 20 or more participants send us an email.

Can I bring my pet?

For health and safety reasons, we cannot allow pets on the slide.

Where do I pick up my ticket/wristband?

You can pick up your tickets/wristbands at the registration marquee when you arrive on event day.  You will have the ability to upgrade your wristband at the event as long as the option isn’t sold out.

What is Early Bird Registration?

Early Bird Registration opens a month or two before the event. If you are signed up for the newsletter you will receive an announcement email as soon as the Early Bird Special is available so you can be the first to sign up.

To sign up for the newsletter go to the event page for your city.

Are there any sponsorship opportunities?

Yes, just contact us here and we can give you more information.

Is it refundable?

The tickets are nonrefundable, but completely transferable. So if you want to give them to a friend that’s fine. Just have them sign a waiver when they come to the registration marquee on event day.

What time does it start and end?

Unless otherwise specified, sliding starts at noon and goes until 5pm. If you are a VIP you can slide from 11am to 12pm and from 5pm to 6pm with just the exclusive types.

What do I wear?

Wear whatever you’d like, except no jeans or clothing with rivets. Be tasteful! There are kids around!

How much is it?

You can sign up for several options. The price range depends on the number of times down the slide and other fun items. Check the city page for the event you’re interested in attending for more details.

Will there be long queues?

Just like any big attraction, expect loads of people to be there. Unfortunately substantial queues are a part of the territory. We will do our best to keep the queues moving but be prepared to do some waiting for your turn. Maybe you can dance with friends and family to entertain yourself while waiting.

Do I have to inflate my own tube?

VIPs receive a tube to keep, but it will be new out of the package and NOT deflated. You are responsible to inflate it yourself. It’s not really that difficult, you just use your lungs. If you are lucky then someone might have a machine you can use. Single and Triple Sliders will receive a tube to borrow at the top of the slide.

What’s the difference between a slip and slide and a waterslide?

A waterslide is more like something you would use at an amusement park that starts really high and propels you to the bottom. Our event is a slip and slide, which is a massive version of the tarpaulin that you used to use in your garden as a kid. We do our best to give you a fun and safe ride, but it’s not guaranteed that you’ll go zooming all the way down in one shot. That will vary between locations and ability of the sliders.

Is Slide the City actually down a city street?

In America, there are really long, wide, straight roads, which lead to two main things: 1) American drivers and not so good at driving on British and Irish streets, and 2) It is more difficult to find a city street with the correct parameters to be closed down for the slide. We may be on streets or in parks, but will do our best to find locations that will make it the best event possible.
